WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM SEZs IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO?
To qualify for Special Economic Zone (SEZ) benefits, businesses must meet the minimum investment and employment requirements set out by the Trinidad and Tobago SEZ Authority (TTSEZA).
Here’s a quick breakdown:
- Micro Enterprises – Minimum new investment of US$10,000, with 1–5 employees.
- Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) – Minimum new investment of US$50,000, with at least 6 full-time employees.
- Large Enterprises – Minimum new investment of US$1 million+, creating 50+ full-time jobs.
- Single Zone Enterprises – Minimum new investment of US$1.5M–US$3M (depending on sector), creating 50+ full-time jobs.
- Operators – Minimum new investment of US$10 million.
Applicants must also demonstrate that their proposed SEZ meets the economic, infrastructural, and regulatory requirements of the SEZ Act.
